Coming back with a vengeance, my first post for month of February. I figured I better come up with something a little bit more exciting than my regular baking stuff, something with MEAT if possible. :) Well, here i am, hope you guys enjoy my recipe.
To make these puppies you need some dough, right. Activate your yeast, with warm water and sugar and let it sit for few minutes. In the bowl of your mixer add flour and salt, then melted butter, two eggs and the yeast mixture when it is ready.Vigorously mix for 3-5 minutes then rub some oil on it and let it rise until it doubles in size. The dough is pretty sticky so don’t fret.
While you wait for dough get the turkey ready. Cut some turkey breast into small pieces then cook it in a skillet where you added about 2 tbsp of butter, salt and pepper. After it is done you need to chop it a bit more until you end up with very small pieces. Now use a bowl to mix your turkey with shredded asiago, hot sauce, garlic chili sauce and dill. Let it cool.
Take the dough and roll it out into a big rectangle about 2 feet (60cm) by 1½ feet (45cm). Cut the rectangle into 4 long strips and take the turkey mixture and divide it in 4, spreading it across the length of the strips. Next, bring the two sides of each strip, pinching it together so that the dough sticks, and thus forming a roll.
Take one strip and using a sharp knife, cut it into 1 inch (2.5cm) pieces.
Place the pieces on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
Brush the turkey bites with egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake in a preheated oven at 375° F / 190° C for about 20 to 25 minutes or until nice and golden brown.
